A friend of mine runs a small clinic in Rohini. Last year he asked three people what a website would cost. He got three answers: ₹8,000, ₹45,000 and ₹1,20,000. Same clinic, same pages. He called me and asked, "Who is lying?"
Nobody was, really. They were selling different things. If you are trying to understand website cost in Delhi for a small shop, clinic, salon or service business, this is the plain version: what you are paying for, what is optional, and where people get overcharged.
What a website costs in Delhi in 2026
For a small business, these are the ranges I see most often:
- Freelancer, simple business website: ₹8,000 to ₹25,000. A few pages, mobile friendly, contact form, WhatsApp button.
- Small agency: ₹30,000 to ₹80,000. Usually a bigger team, a project manager and a longer timeline.
- Big agency or custom-built system: ₹50,000 to ₹1,50,000 and above. Makes sense for large companies, not for a neighbourhood shop.
- Online store (Shopify): ₹8,000 to ₹50,000 to set up, depending on how many products you have.
My own prices sit at the low end because I work alone and do the design and the code myself. A business website with me starts at ₹9,999, a website with a built-in AI chatbot starts at ₹11,999, and a Shopify store starts at ₹7,999. You can see everything on the pricing page.
Why the quotes are so different
Three things move the price more than anything else.
1. Who is doing the work
A freelancer has no office rent and no sales team to pay for. An agency does, and that cost ends up in your quote. It does not mean the agency is worse. It means you are paying for a bigger setup you may not need.
2. Template or built from scratch
A template site is faster and cheaper. A site coded from scratch costs more, but loads faster and can do exactly what you want. For most small businesses, a clean, well-built site that loads quickly is plenty.
3. How many pages and features
Five pages cost less than twenty. Booking forms, online payments, a blog and chatbots all add work. Start with what you really need on day one. You can add the rest later.
The costs people forget to ask about
The quote for the website is not the whole bill. Ask about these before you say yes:
- Domain name: your web address, like yourclinic.in. Usually around ₹700 to ₹1,500 a year.
- Hosting: the place where the site lives. From a few thousand rupees a year, depending on the plan.
- Business email: an address like name@yourclinic.in looks far more trustworthy than a Gmail address. I set this up from ₹1,499 a year.
- Changes after launch: ask what is included. Some people charge for every small edit.
One more thing: make sure the domain and hosting are in your name. I have heard too many stories of owners who could not move their own website because the developer registered everything under theirs.
How to avoid overpaying
- Ask for the price in writing, with the list of pages and what is included.
- Look at their past work, not just their promises. Open the sites on your phone and see how fast they load.
- Be careful with very cheap offers. A ₹3,000 website is often a copied template with no support after the first week.
- Be careful with very expensive offers too. If you only need a simple site, ask why the price needs a team of six.
- Start small. Home, About, Services, Contact. That is enough to begin getting enquiries.
Is a website worth it for a small shop or clinic?
If people in your area search on Google before they visit, yes. When someone types "dentist near me" or "mobile repair in Lajpat Nagar", they look at what comes up, check the photos and the reviews, and often call the first business that looks real. A simple website with your address, timings, services and a WhatsApp button does that job quietly all day.
It does not have to be fancy. It has to be clear, quick on a phone, and easy to contact you from.
How I price and run a project
I tell you the full price, the pages and the timeline before any money is paid. A 50% advance starts the project and the rest is paid before final delivery. Because payments are final once made, I make sure the scope is clear first, and you are welcome to ask questions or take the free website check before deciding. Nothing about that is meant to pressure you.
Not sure what you need? Send me your business name and I will tell you honestly which option fits and what it will cost, even if the answer is "you do not need a website yet".
Common questions
What is the cheapest way to get a business website in Delhi?
A freelancer building a simple, mobile-friendly site. Expect about ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 for a clean business website, plus the yearly cost of the domain and hosting.
How long does it take?
A simple site usually takes about a week once I have your content, photos and details. Delays almost always come from waiting for content, not from the building itself.
Do I need to pay every month?
Not necessarily. You pay once for the website, then yearly for the domain and hosting. Monthly fees only come in if you want ongoing work, like social media or regular updates.
Can I update the website myself later?
Yes, if it is built that way. Tell the developer up front that you want to edit text and photos yourself, and ask them to show you how.
Should I get a website or a Shopify store?
If you only want customers to find and contact you, get a business website. If you want to sell products and take payments online, a Shopify store is the better fit.
